Why are the Stone Support Screws so difficult to screw in?

Last Updated: May 29, 2014 03:35PM PDT
The Screws provided for the Stone Supports are self-tapping screws in order to protect against the screws seizing after going through a few heat cycles.  We want you to have the ability to remove them should you find it necessary to flip or replace a stone in the future.

If you are experiencing difficulty when installing the Screws, you can try using a flat head/standard screwdriver instead of a #2 Phillips.  We also recommend screwing the Screws in as far as you can easily, and then unscrewing the Screws a bit, and then continuing to screw them in again in order to work them into the Support Brackets.

Note: Be sure to firmly press down on the Screw while holding the Support Bracket from the underside in order to protect the Stones and Support Brackets from excessive pressure and stress.
